This old park dates back to 1948 when the land was purchased by the Orange Young Britons Lodge. They dedicated the park on Canada Day in 1950. The Orange Lodge is nearby, today housing the
Royal Canadian Legion.
The village of Stittsville purchased the park in 1965. It was officially dedicated as Alexander Grove Centennial Park right before Canada Day in 1967.
There is plenty of parking in front of the arena. There is a second parking lot at the east end of Stitt Street.
Posted co-ordinates are for the old canteen building.
