Location of tower: Bluff St., cliff above grain elevator, Rhineland
There is nothing on the tower. The city had a small tower, higher up the hill, and the elevator company, ever before a real town was here, used this tower.
Some locals hinted, but would not say outright, they thought it was originally built by the MK&T (Katy) Railway...
Bluff Street [see photo in gallery] was the rail bed for the railroad.
I asked inside, and the lady at the desk said it was used nowadays only when the river flooded the valley.
