Gertrude E.H. Bustill Mossell (1855-1948)- Teacher and journalist lived here. Wrote for many publications on race and feminism. Her books included "The Work of the Afro-American Woman." Fundraiser for Frederick Douglass Hospital; her husband was its founder.
