This little girl was a member of a fairly prominent family in Denton County. Her grandfather, W.A. Ponder, was a successful businessman, and a western Denton County city bears his name, which also figures into one of Denton's curiosities.

Cora Lee is buried a few feet from her parents. There is text only on the front of the headstone, below a beautiful rose:

Cora Lee,

Beloved daughter
of
Theodore E. & Effie
Ponder,

Born
Sept. 23, 1899,

Departed
March 8, 1902.

"Suffer little children to come
unto me, for of such is the Kingdom
of Heaven."
