From Ontario highway #7, take Ashton Station Road south to the service road now known as West End Way. The subway allows for passage of the the Ottawa-Carleton Trailway (part of the Trans Canada Trail), also known as the B.E.A.S.T. (Beautiful Eastern Association of Snowmobile Trails). This trail was once the railbed for Canadian Pacific Railway's Carleton Place sub-division. It looks as if rail traffic could still fit through these passages.
The passage under the eastbound lanes of provincial highway #7 was completed in 2009. The passage under the Toronto-bound traffic was finished in 2010. Both passages have been given one identification number: 3-464.
Year built or dedicated as indicated on the structure or plaque: 2009/2010
