The Sarsaparilla Trail system is a short-distance collection of looping dirt trails, wide and level, good for children. This trail system begins at parking lot P7, on the west side of Old Richmond Road, north of West Hunt Club Road.
The National Capital Commission (NCC) maintains waypoint signs throughout the Greenbelt, a natural area which surrounds the city of Ottawa. The waypoints mark trail intersections. The signs include geographic co-ordinates and a map of other waypoints.
From waypoint 22 d, trail users can continue West to waypoint 22 E.
