Marker is located near the entrance to the Roy Gillian (Ocean City) Welcome Center. Gillian was a former mayor of Ocean City.
The center is only accessible from the eastbound NJ 52 causeway, or by bicycle/walking path.
The center was built in 2013, and sees about 40,000 visitors yearly. It is only open seasonally, but the grounds and trails are accessible year round.
