Deze brug stond lange tijd bekend als de "Rode brug", maar werd in de jaren 60 omgedoopt tot "Molenbrug". De molen, waarnaar de naam van deze brug verwijst, is ongeveer 150 meter ten oosten van de brug te vinden. Het water dat overbrugd wordt is de gemeentelijke haven van Brielle.

One of the three characteristic white drawbridges in the center of Brielle.
For a long time this bridge was known as the "Red Bridge", but was renamed "Molenbrug" in the 1960s. The mill, to which the name of this bridge refers, can be found about 150 meters east of the bridge. The water that is bridged is the municipal port of Brielle.
