The city's name is pronounced "DEE-port", named for Colonel Dee Thompson, whose final resting place is just up the road from here at Highland Cemetery. You'll find the water tower at the end of Main Street where it turns west to become Monroe Street. It's impossible to miss.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1951 (JCT) THE STATION IS LOCATED AT THE NORTH EDGE OF THE BUSINESS DISTRICT. IT IS APPROXIMATELY 90 FEET HIGH, HAS 4-LEGS AND IS PAINTED SILVER. THE POINT INTERSECTED WAS THE BALL ON TOP.
