In the early morning of 15 July 2020, the ISS passed over Des Moines WA at 03:02:47 at 61° above the horizon at a brightness of -3.3. It continued SE and passed over Vulture1957 watching in Bethany OK at 05:08:40 at 47° above the horizon at a brightness of -2.7. From Des Moines WA to Bethany OK is 5 min 53 secs of ISS flight time, for 1679.5 miles.
Conditions in Bethany: 83°F, mostly cloudy, wind 14 mph, humidity 54% and a quarter crescent moon in the east.
As this sighting was long before my normal wake up time, I watched from my front yard. What was supposed to be a mostly clear sky turned out to be mostly cloudy. When I first stepped outside, I could see the crescent moon, but the clouds quickly obscured it. I could not see any other celestial bodies for the cloud cover. I did manage to see the ISS between clouds for 5 to 10 seconds (thanks to tracking it's passage with the Heavens Above phone app), ending my sighting at 05:08:13 as it went behind a large cloud bank and stayed behind it for the rest of the pass. The app showed the ISS passing very close to if not in front of the moon. I wish I could have seen that. Info from Tubatad says he also saw the ISS.
