The Chvalovice Bridge is the first suspension bridge in the Czechia with two hinge planes and Extrados low pylons. It was designed as a continuous prestressed beam construction in TT shape. To lighten the main field, the central part of the 52.28 m length was designed as composite. The profile of the chamber composite steel beams is shaped to match the shape of the concrete beams on both bridgeheads. The lower part of the pylon is reinforced concrete, the upper part with anchor hinges is a steel-concrete composite structure. The supporting structure of the main field is suspended on three parallel hinges. The span of the load-bearing structure of the main bridge is 41 + 132 + 41 m, the total length of the bridge is 540 m. The project is the work of Pontex Ltd., the construction was carried out by the association of companies Mosty Nymburk, Metrostav and PSVS. The bridge was awarded the Transportation Construction of the Year 2007.
