Gardel bought this property in 1927 and lived here with his mother until 1933, when he died in an airplane crash in Colombia.
Nowadays it's a museum dedicated to the singer and his work. There is not much of the original house. Well, perhaps the structure. But what we see there today is the result of a full renovation, which resulted in a sterile environment, enriched only by the collection.
There are several artefacts which belonged to Gardel, as well as photographs, magazine and newspaper cuts and an exhaustive collection of his songs which can be heard in the provided headphones set.
An extended history of the museum and the house can be read here: (
