Description:

David John Howard Thompson was a Bajan politician. He was born in London, U.K. and was raised in Fitts Village, Saint James, Barbados. He graduated with honors from the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill law school.

Prime Minister David John Howard Thompson served for 21 years in parliament from July 16, 1987, a member of the Democratic Labour Party. He was elected as the 6th Prime Minister of Barbados on January 16, 2008. He served in that capacity until his untimely death from pancreatic cancer on October 23, 2010 at 49 years of age.
