This First of its Kind is a Trading Post located in Lowell, Michigan at Grand River Riverfront Park Northside. There is a Marker attached to a stone in front of a replica trading post. The Marker reads:"The First Trading Post In Kent County, was located on Trail 44 rods to the South of this spot. Established about 1800 by Joseph La Framboise, kept by him until he was killed in 1809 and by his wife until bought by Rix Robinson and moved to Ada in 1821. Erected by Mrs. R. Pierce Tent Daughters of Veterans 1861-65 and people of Kent County 1921."
