St. Wenceslaus is the main patron saint of Bohemia.
The first Czech saint and the patron saint of the Czech state, Wenceslas (Václav in Czech) served as duke of Bohemia from 921 until his death in 929 or 935. Though he died young, this martyr’s accomplishments were many. He built numerous churches in Bohemia and was deeply respected as a pious, moral, educated and intelligent man who promoted the Christian faith and took care of the poor, the sick, the widowed and the orphaned by doing charitable deeds.

Socha stojí vedle barokní kaple. Kaple byla postavena roku 1696 na míste chalupy manželu Ondreje a Anny Hisperkových. Byl v ní prechováván obraz Panny Marie Klatovské, který byl v roce 1686 umísten do farního kostela. V roce 1715 z nadace Anny Terezie Fuxové z Valburku byl postaven pri kapli špitál pro chudé a nemocné.Bohužel v padesátých letech minulého století neblahé historické události zpusobily, že kaple byla uzavrena, ponechána zubu casu, oltár i dve sochy ve vnejších výklencích byly nenávratne ztraceny neznámo kam. Zustalo jen pár lavic, holý interiér a pred kaplí socha sv. Václava z roku 1772 s nápisem SANCTVS WENCESLAVS SIT MEDIATOR a socha Panny Marie IMMACULATY z roku 1746 s latinským nápisem v prekladu znamenajícím "Nad hvezdy krásná nad slunce jasná Matko Páne pros za nás AVE".
