The pillar box is Grade II listed with the entry at the Historic England website telling us:

"Penfold" type cast iron hexagonal pillar box of the 1872-79 period. Designed by J W Penfold, architect, cast by Cochrane, Grove and Company. Hexagonal pillar on plinth with cyma roll; carries royal cipher VR, and royal arms above the posting aperture. Cap with band of ball decoration and foliated top.
