The bicycle tender is located at an entrance gate to The Bath House and Physic Garden.

The tender has a bike sculpture constructed from bicycles/bicycle parts welded together and painted orange. There are wicker cycle baskets attached to hold plant displays.

The tender was constructed to celebrate the Tour of Britain cycle race visiting Congleton in 2016.

"Tour of Britain 2016
Congleton hosted the start of day three for Britain’s Premier Cycling Event- the Tour of Britain- Tuesday 6th September 2016. It saw some of the worlds best cyclists set off on a 182 kilometre challenging leg around Cheshire East, finishing in Tatton Park.

Congleton geared up for stage 3 of the Tour of Britain weeks in advance of the event. There was fabulous support from the local business community and Cheshire East Council.
Congleton Town Council was able to start decorating the town weeks in advance with 50 orange bikes and bike sculptures, lamp post banners, railing banners and for the first time, fitted banners on Rood Hill. Young people from Visyon worked on a start flag in art workshops and Congleton Community Projects co-ordinated t-shirts to decorate Morrison’s Wall and festival flags throughout the town."

"The first of the highly visual ‘orange’ bikes, which will be used to decorate Congleton in the lead up to the Tour of Britain Cycle Race, has been delivered to the Town Council from Burns Garage paint shop.
Burns garage generously agreed to spray paint the first 40 bikes free of charge for the town. The bikes have all been saved from the dump (waste transfer centre) or fly tipped over the past few months.
Congleton Town Council Chief Officer, David McGifford witnessed the first of the bikes coming out of the paint shop along with Burns Garage MD Robert Burns and Body Shop Manager Darren Wood. Mr McGifford said: “I would like to thank Burns Garage for their fantastic support in this project.
