The Log Cabin pattern has long been considered the quintessential American design.The pattern represents log cabins on the prairie with red center squares for the hearth, light colors on one side for the sunny side of the house and dark colors on the opposite side for the shady side of the house.
This quilt square was painted in 2012 by the fifth grade students of Roopville Elementary School.
