Edmond is celebrating a major investment into its downtown area.

The Mule restaurant has opened its second location in downtown Edmond.

Two blocks away, The Railyard food hall opened last year.

Inside Railyard, 1884, a cocktail and cigar bar opened less than a week ago.

“Downtown Edmond is extremely hot right now,” said Janet Yowell the Executive Director of the Edmond Economic Development Authority.

Yowell said in the past 20 years around $30 million in private investment has been made in downtown Edmond.

But nearly $3 million of that came in 2019 alone.

Inside a nearly 100-year-old building on Broadway, Frenzy, Edmond’s first brewery and taproom will open in May.

“We are finding we stay in Edmond more and more,” said Frenzy’s Matt Conner, about Edmond’s nightlife.

Across the street, people will soon be able to free climb at Blocworks.

The colored coded routes are set to open any day.

At East 5th Street and South Littler Avenue, the same developers of the Railyard yard are putting the finishing touches on modern living at Park 17.

Nashbird, which serves Nashville style chicken in OKC will open its second location on the first floor of Park 17.

“We actually have tenants from downtown OKC that are coming up here and experiencing better numbers,” said Park 17 developer Casey Massegee.

Edmond's Quiet Zone is expected later this year and is already sparking talk of new development.

“What we are seeing we didn’t think we’d see for a while, an awful lot of discussions on projects west of the railroad tracks,” said Yowell.
