EN In 1907 Father Brun, appointed to the La Bourine church (opened in 1783 in the La Chapelle district), quickly realized that it no longer corresponded to today's needs. At the same time, the La Bouilladisse district is gaining momentum.
From 1910 Father Brun counted on the generosity of the parishioners. It was Mr. Alexandre Boyer who offered land for the construction of a new church.
On January 5, 1911, Monseigneur Fabre, Archbishop of Marseille, will lay the first stone. The inauguration of the Saint Laurent church will take place on September 29, 1912.
However, this church is missing something: a bell! It remained on the old bell tower of La Bourine church and was not recovered until 1918 ... after the war.
In 1950 the bell was replaced thanks to the launch, by Father Roger Marc, of a subscription. Madame Jeanne Isnard, owner of the Château de Vert Clos, was its godmother. The bell will be baptized "Jeanne Marie Laurence".
