EN: This wayside cross is located on the pass on the road between Kienberg and Erlinsbach.
It is around three meters high and has a fairly large golden figure of Jesus, which was probably only recently cleaned. The cross has a protective gable covered with metal plates.
The cross is just a few steps from the border between the cantons of Aargau and Solothurn. I have encountered this constellation several times before. The traditionally Roman Catholic canton of Solothurn often has these wayside crosses right on the border to Reformed regions.
DE: Dieses Wegkreuz befindet sich auf der Passhöhe an der Strasse zwischen Kienberg und Erlinsbach.
Es ist rund drei Meter hoch und hat eine ziemlich grosse goldene Jesusfigur, die vermutlich erst kürzlich gereinigt wurde. Das Kreuz hat einen Schutzgiebel, der mit Metallplatten gedeckt ist.
Das Kreuz befindet sich nur wenige Schritte von der Grenze zwischen den Kantonen Aargau und Solothurn. Diese Konstellation habe ich schon mehrfach angetroffen. Der traditionell katholische Kanton Solothurn hat häufig Wegkreuze direkt an der Grenze zu reformierten Gebieten.
