In Bukittinggi is a small zoo, set up in 1929 in an attempt to rescue the wildlife of Sumatra. The zoo is called the Wildlife Cultural Park Kinantan. Nowadays the zoo isn't up to international standards anymore, but for the local standards I believe the animals are well cared for. This goes also for the aqaurium, which is shaped in the form of a fish. There is a seperate fee for the aquarium (2000 rupia's, which is a very small price).
Physical address of aquarium: Jala Cindua Mato
Hours of operation: 9-17
Admission cost: 2000 rupias
