Fred Gray Memorial Field - Hobart, OK - Amateur Baseball Fields on Waymarking.com

Fred Gray Memorial Field, also known as Bearcat Stadium, is located at the intersection of N. Jefferson and E. Ash Streets, east of the Hobart High School. It is home to the Hobart Bearcats. There is a very nice metal stadium seating section with dressing rooms, and a lighted field. The area has a low stone wall on two sides and concrete panel wall surrounding the full-block area.

We were unable to determine when the field was constructed, but it was renovated in 2014 with a new fence, concession stand and bathrooms, plus a batting barn and was repainted. The field serves the high school team, and several community activities and events are held here also.

We were unable to confirm exactly who Fred Gray was. There is a Fred Gray buried in Hobart's Resurrection Cemetery who lived from 1941 to 1991. A Fred Gray was also a very prominent civil rights attorney who practiced from 1954 to 2014.
