The Evangelical church of Sarandë is a white two-storey biulding with a flat roof just opposite the ferry terminal. Service is Sunday at 10:30.
The Evangelical churches of Albania are mostly members of the VUSH (Vëllazëria Ungjillore e Shqipërisë/ Evangelical Alliance of Albania). They cooperate in this organzation, but stay independent entities. As only 0.14 % of the Albanians are Protestants (as of the 2011 census), the denominations known in other countries do not play any role at all.
In 1967 Abania declared itself the first atheist country in the world. After religious freedom was re-established in 1990, most inhabitants returned to the traditional Religion of their families. In 2011 the Evangelical Alliance was declared the fifth religious association officially recognized by the Albanian government after Sunni Muslims, Bektashi Muslims, Greek Orthodox and Roman Catholics.
