The museum is located at 518 S. Main in the Rock Island depot constructed in 1905. On the south side of the depot Boxcar 59379 is on display. The car is painted red, and information painted on its side shows that it was built in March 1959.

The boxcar is behind a chain link fence, but is easily visible up close. The museum is open on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 and Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00-4:00.
