The Roseville Prison was part of the Ohio Penitentiary system. Good behavior inmates would often be sent to this location from the "Ohio Penn" in Columbus to work the brick ovens that were used in state building projects.
The nearby houses, where were only recently abandoned (compared to the prison) were made from the brick manufactured by the inmates. The houses were supposedly the home of the prison's warden.
The site is watched by local law enforcement and is posted "Keep Out".
There are at least 3 buildings on the site, as well as 3 guard towers.
