This adorable sit-by-me sculpture is one of many in the Oracle Crossing Shopping Center. These pieces by David Voisard are made of recycled stainless steel. Sharing a Meal was placed in 2005.
In this art piece, a man sits on one of the benches at the front of the restaurant. He is dressed in a suit and tie, wearing a hat, and has a moustache. He is reaching out with his left arm, dangling food to the dog. The dog is sitting on his hind feet, front paws forward, head up waiting for the food he sees above him.
Considering the sign behind the man and the looks of the appearance of the food in his bowl, I am assuming that he is feeding spaghetti to his dog.
Max is helping the man feed some of the food in his bowl to the eager dog.
