"Au nord de l’Ile de Bréhat, en 1181, le village de Saint-Riom était appelé Villa de sancto Rihen. Entre les XIIe et XIVe siècles, quand la peste sévit sur Bréhat et les îlots environnants, cet endroit devint le quartier des lépreux. La chapelle servit de lieu de culte pour les malades isolés dans une maladrerie dont il ne reste aucuns vestiges.
Après la fin de l’épidémie, par superstition, les habitants ne voulurent plus utiliser cette chapelle qui fut laissée à l’abandon. Mise en vente à la révolution, elle ne trouva pas acquéreur. Elle ne fut dégagée des ronces qu’en 1987.
De plan rectangulaire, les murs sont édifiés en moellons de granite. Une cheminée est accolée au pignon ouest, pignon surmonté d'une croix monolithe à branches courtes en calcaire.
A l’intérieur, on peut aussi voir le bénitier près de la grille d’entrée, une auge en pierre qui aurait servi autrefois de baptistère, et une statue de Saint-Riom." (
