Smithsonian Art Inventory

"A man and woman with a child between them. The woman has long hair and wears a long-sleeved, ankle-length, collarless dress. She is kneeling and seems to recline as she bends her left arm and supports the child with her right hand. The man's torso is bare. He points in the direction of the woman and child with his right hand and he possibly supports the child with his left hand. The child is barefoot and wears a long-sleeved, ankle-length, robe-like garment. It is raised slightly above the man and woman, with its legs drawn up, possibly sitting, and its hands upraised. The sculpture is mounted on a rectangular, pedestal-like base."
