Gary Fisher (1950-2014) was a Muenster native who was very active in the community, doing for others as well as for his own family. His background in business came in handy for so many of the projects he worked, including service as a Scoutmaster (with trips to Philmont), as a member of the Muenster Chamber of Commerce member, and managing the Texas Stage at Germanfest for many years. He was instrumental in starting the Keep Muenster Beautiful Organization -- his photo is the profile photo on the Keep Muenster Beautiful
Facebook page -- and worked towards Muenster's receiving its first Governor Achievement Award with his "Clean Sweep" program, to keep Muenster nice and clean. The money from that award helped to purchase street lamps along Main St and US 82. He also was a member of the Muenster Kiwanis, and he worked on multiple beautification projects in town. This plaque is a wonderful tribute, with the "Keep Muenster Beautiful" emblem at the top, and it reads:
Keep Muenster Beautiful Walking Trail
is dedicated in memory of
Gary Fisher
(KMB board member 1985-2014)
whose creative energy and dedication to Muenster never ceased.
