The trailhead for Douglas Springs Trail is on the far east side of Speedway, just south of the entrance to the Tanque Verde Guest Ranch. It is .17 miles east of the Wildhorse trailhead. A small parking lot is right at the trailhead, but when the trail is popular there is street-side parking on E. Speedway.
Even in winter, this can be a very popular hiking/walking trail. There is a small covered area next to parking where you can sit down to prepare for your hike or rest afterwards.
Please read the trail website and signs in the gallery before coming here to hike. You will need water! Please also read the warning about aggressive bees on the trail. The reviews of those who have hiked here can be helpful!
After scanning the QR code provided at the trailhead, the following fees were presented: Individual permit $15/7 days; Saguaro National Park Annual Pass $45. Lifetime passes are available at the Visitor's Center. 100% of fees paid stay within Saguaro National Park to support visitor services.
Don't miss the 2020 free days: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; April 18 First Day of National Park Week/National Junior Ranger Day; August 25 National Park Service Birthday; September 26 National Public Lands Day; November 11 Veterans Day.
