County of tender: Boone County
Location of tender: Scott Blvd, Jay Dix Station, city park nex t to basketball court, Columbia
Dedicated: May 3, 2015

This was once the boarding area for cattle ... loading them on cattle cars for market in Chicago and Kansas City.

When the railroad ceased and the tracks became the Katy Trail State Park, this was a parking lot for the trail head. In 2002 the area was named for the local ME, Dr. Jay Dix.
In 2009, the county and city got together and decided to make this trail head a park.

Done, and dedicated in May 2015, and still named for the ME, it is a neat park, and trail head. Has an exercise area, basketball court, and a mountain bike skills course.... as well as the bicycle travel on the Katy Trail...
