Dne 6. cervence 1919 byl sloup v rámci oslav výrocí Husova upálení a s tím spojených protikatolických nálad nesmyslne stržen a socha rozbita.
EN: The column on the Slaný square with the statue of Immaculata dates back to 1681 and was reminiscent of the plague epidemic in the previous year, in which 405 people died in the town. On July 6, 1919, the pillar was absurdly torn down as part of the anniversary of Hus's burning and the anti-Catholic moods associated with it, and the statue was broken. Evidently this happened under the impression of destroying the Marian Column in Prague almost a year earlier. No fragments were preserved. The culprits were photographed.
