Asteroid
127 Johanna is an asteroid discovered by Prosper-Mathieu Henry on November 5, 1872. The object was named after Joan of Arc, whose original spelling of the first name was Johanne.
The Statue
The statue of Joan of Arc prisoner is a work of the sculptor Désiré-Célestin Fossé (1851-1923), of the Founder Thiébaut Brothers and of O. Gremilly architect. It was built in 1880 and is located in Place Jeanne d'Arc.
History
On November 21, 1430, Joan of Arc, prisoner of the English was imprisoned in the Château du Crotoy until December 20. She will then cross the Baie de Somme towards Saint-Valery on foot. She will then be brought to Rouen for her trial and her conviction for the stake.
The Personality
Johanne of Arc , born around 1412 in Domremy, village of the duchy of Barn (currently in the department of Vosges in Lorraine), and died at the stake on May 30, 1431 in Rouen, capital of the Duchy of Normandy then possession of the kingdom of England, is a heroine in the history of France, warlord and saint of the Catholic Church, nicknamed since the sixteenth century "the Maid of Orleans".

127 Johanna est un astéroïde découvert par Prosper-Mathieu Henry le 5 novembre 1872. L'objet a été nommé d'après Jeanne d'Arc, dont l'orthographe d'origine du prénom était Johanne.
La Statue
La statue de Jeanne d'Arc prisonnière est une œuvre du sculpteur Désiré-Célestin Fossé (1851-1923), des Frères Thiébaut fondeurs et d'O. Gremilly architecte. Elle a été réalisée en 1880 et se trouve place Jeanne d'Arc.
Historique
Le 21 novembre 1430, Jeanne d’Arc, prisonnière des Anglais est incarcérée dans le château du Crotoy jusqu’au 20 décembre. Elle franchira alors à pied la Baie de Somme vers Saint-Valery. Elle sera ensuite amenée à Rouen pour son procès et sa condamnation au bûcher.

Jeanne d'Arc , née vers 1412 à Domrémy, village du duché de Barn (actuellement dans le département des Vosges en Lorraine), et morte sur le bûcher le 30 mai 1431 à Rouen, capitale du duché de Normandie alors possession du royaume d'Angleterre, est une héroïne de l'histoire de France, chef de guerre et sainte de l'Église catholique, surnommée depuis le XVIe siècle « la Pucelle d'Orléans ».
