The Learning Tree, by sculptor Joe A. Tyler, is located next to the Oro Valley Public Library. It is an impressive piece of art, and the detail in the branches and leaves is astounding!
The book is propped upright from the back side, forming a triangular foundation as viewed from the side. Text is on both sides of the book's pages:
"The smarter you grow the stronger your voice when speaking your mind or making your choice.
The more you read the more you know; the more you know the more you grow."
The tree grows from the very center of the book, at the spine. About a dozen roots spread out from the base of the tree across the pages.
