"Kuhmalahden kirkko seisoo edelleen samalla kalliorinteellä, jonne paikkakunnan väki on kokoontunut jumalanpalveluksiin jo lähes 350 vuoden ajan. Kuhmalahden kirkko on rakennettu vuosina 1845-1846 ja sen on suunnitellut arkkitehti E. Lohrman. Kellotapuli on rakennettu jo vuonna 1780, edellisen kirkon yhteyteen. Edellinen kirkko oli rakennettu vuonna 1664 ja sen käydessä ahtaaksi rakennettiin samalle paikalle uusi kirkko.

Church of Kuhmalahti has already been located in this same place for 350 years. The church is built during the years 1845-1846 and it is designed by the architect E. Lohrman. The bell-tower is from the year 1780. The previous church was built in 1664 in the same place and was replaced with the new church because of the overcrowding."
