U of A is a beautiful campus on 388 acres. Students from 117 countries attend school here. There are approximately 122 Bachelor's degree fields, 122 Master degree fields, and 95 doctoral. There are 160 buildings on the main campus, and 14,000 employees!

"Bear Down Arizona" was written in 1952 by Jack K. Lee, who at the time was an applicant for the UA's Band directorship. After being named UA's band director, that September the band performed this song in public for the first time, and it became the school's fight song.

U of A's school colors were originally sage green and silver, but in 1900 the school's student manager was offered new uniforms at a deal too good to pass up, and those solid blue jerseys with red trim were so popular they were approved as the new school colors.

One of the U of A traditions is for the freshman class to whitewash the A on A mountain. Even after 100 years, A Mountain is still a Tucson and U of A landmark.

One of the two original bells salvaged from the U.S.S. Arizona in 1941 is installed on the clock tower on the campus. The bell arrived in July 1946. Currently the bell is rung seven times on the third Wednesday of every month at 12:07 p.m. to honor the achievements of the University of Arizona and its community.
