The branch line originally connected Delph and Oldham and closed in 1963. A 2 mile stretch from Delph to Uppermill has been converted to a rails to trails cycle and walking route and this bridge marks the end of the trail at Uppermill.
The bridge
The bridge crosses a single track minor road at an angle.
At some point the arch has been strengthened with metal tie bars.
The cycle route heads west from the bridge, but a short footpath continues for a short distance to the east and south.
Bridge Type: Arch
Bridge Usage: Pedestrian
Moving Bridge: This bridge is static (has no moving pieces)
