This single arch stone bridge carried the Delph branch railway line of the Manchester to Huddersfield Railway Line.

The branch line originally connected Delph and Oldham and closed in 1963. A 2 mile stretch from Delph to Uppermill has been converted to a rails to trails cycle and walking route and this bridge marks the end of the trail at Uppermill.

The bridge The bridge crosses a single track minor road at an angle.

At some point the arch has been strengthened with metal tie bars.

The cycle route heads west from the bridge, but a short footpath continues for a short distance to the east and south.
