The Dare truss bridge was designed by H H Dare in 1903 and is a composite Howe truss timber bridge having six approach spans of timber girders. The main span is a half through composite truss of the Dare type. The main piers are concrete. The bridge was built in 1905 on the same foundations as the old 1865 bridge that was condemned in 1895.
