This may be more commonly known as "Laurie" Memorial Park, from the multitude of War Memorials within it; including two plaques, for two generations of 'Laurie soldiers'. At the northern end of the grassy park is a cream-brick pillar, with a pink granite pyramid on top, and brick shoulders, with a plaque on the southern side, for the naming of Laurie Park, from 'Mac' Laurie, a returned serviceman of 6 years in the RAAF in World War Two. That inscription reads:
[RSL logo]
LAURIE PARK
In Memory of
ROBERT LANCE McDONALD LAURIE
Grandson of Laurieton's Co-Founder Joseph Laurie
"Mac" served six years with R.A.A.F. in W.W. II
In 1946 he was a Co-Founder of
Laurieton R.S.L. Sub-Branch
Received Certificate of Appreciation
and Life Membership for Services Rendered
"LEST WE FORGET"
While there are a couple of covered benches, most are uncovered, and placed near the Cenotaph. Apart from the Multiple War Memorials, there is also an aircraft Propeller, a ship's Anchor, and a 25 pound Static Artillery on display.
