The City of Hobart is the county seat for Kiowa County in southwestern Oklahoma. The town was established on August 6, 1901 with the land lottery which opened the Kiowa-Comanche-Apache Reservation for settlement.
This gazebo is located on the southwest corner of the courthouse square at the intersection of South Main and 4th Streets. The 8-sided gazebo has a wood roof covered in composition shingles. The concrete floor is reached by two 6-step staircases. The walls are brick and have arched openings at floor level. There are built-in metal seats.
A granite plaque in the concrete floor reads:
Dedicated in honor of
Hobart's 85th birthday
by the citizens of
Hobart
Aug. 6, 1901 - Aug. 6, 1986
