CZ: Bedrich Smetana (2. brezna 1824 Litomyšl – 12. kvetna 1884 Praha) byl významným ceským hudebním skladatelem, dnes známým predevším cyklem symfonických básní Má vlast a operami Libuše a Prodaná nevesta. Jeho skladby vznikaly v období romantismu.
Pomník se nachází ve Dvorákových sadech, nedaleko vchodu do divadla. Bronzová socha je dílem sochare Jaroslava Volfa a byla odlita ve slévárne barevných kovu J. Cervenky. Pomník "Nesmrtelnému mistrovi" nechal postavit pevecký sbor Smetana. Autorem terénních úprav okolo pomníku byl stavitel Vilém Procházka.
ENG: Bedrich Smetana (2 March 1824 Litomyšl - May 12, 1884 Prague) was a prominent Czech composer, now known primarily for his cycle of symphonic poems Má vlast (My Country) and operas Libuše and Prodaná nevesta (The Bartered Bride). His compositions were made during the Romantic period.
The monument is located in Dvorák Park, near the theater entrance. The bronze sculpture is the work of sculptor Jaroslav Volf and was cast in a non-ferrous metal foundry by J. Cervenka. The monument to the "Immortal Master" was built by the Smetana choir. The author of the landscaping around the monument was the builder Vilém Procházka.
