"In Tarcienne, there is a military cemetery containing the bodies of German and French soldiers as well as those of three Russians. The cemetery was originally created by the Germans who, after the fighting of 23-24 August on Tarcienne soil during the famous battle of Charleroi, brought together the bodies of the fighters of both sides who had fallen around Tarcienne. Today, the cemetery is home to the remains of 153 Germans, 394 French and two Russians (the third was returned to the family). Note the presence of an ossuary containing the remains of German and French soldiers."
