The black marble tablet is mounted on a vertical slab of sandstone (lichen encrusted), with a black and white cameo photo to the left-hand side of the tablet - where he is shown wearing a white singlet. The inscription of the open book etched tablet reads:
In Loving Memory of
our dear Brother and Uncle
Neville Keith Cheers _/_
Accidentally Killed_/_
March 31.1969
aged 45 years 11 months.
Tis a memory silently kept.
Of one we loved and will never forget.
Incidentally, I hadn't noticed what possibly the items are at the end of a couple of the lines of the inscription while I was photographing it, "_/_" but it quite likely represents an old styled wood plane. With the possible significance that he may have been a carpenter.
The only mention of Neville that I found with a quick online search was, he was born in 1924, and died in Dungog, NSW Australia in 1969 [ex-a family history page: Cheers Family, retrieved 27 December, 2019]
