Stained glass windows in St Mary's church, Tissington, including one depicting a scene from the Great Flood story from the book of Genesis.
"St Mary’s Church is located in the Diocese of Derby and is a member of Parwich Benefice. It is situated at the heart of the picturesque village of Tissington. The site is known to have been a place of worship since Celtic and Saxon times. The chancel and south doorway of the present church date back to Norman times. The doorway features a Norman tympanum containing two small standing figures. The north aisle was added to the building in 1845. The church is listed Grade II*.
The church building is open during the hours of day light. Historical information about the church and local community dating back to 1701 can be found in the church registers for births, deaths and marriages. These historical records are held at the Derbyshire Record Office in Matlock."
