La ville de Cavaillon a fait ériger une stèle à la mémoire des huit habitants de cette citée fusillés le 5 juillet 1944 dans ce lieu désertique et sauvage.
Emprisonnés à l'hôtel Splendid, siège de la Compagnie allemande à Cavaillon, ils seront passés par les armes en représailles aux actes de sabotage et aux coup de main donnés à la résistance, non sans avoir été torturés et atrocement mutilés.

The town of Cavaillon has erected a stele in memory of the eight inhabitants of this city who were shot dead on 5 July 1944 in this deserted and wild place.
Imprisoned in the Hotel Splendid, the headquarters of the German Company in Cavaillon, they were subjected to acts of sabotage and to the help given to the resistance, not without being tortured and atrociously mutilated.
