It is interesting that a place that has been a park since the 1800's has nature signs. The place is anything but wild.

Weeping Willow (on one of the signs) was planted in several parks near the water, it is not native. Many still survive but they have shallow roots and are prone to wind damage.

Milkweed (on the sign) has been planted in many places for the monarchs for which it is a host plant. There are no wild areas in the park where it would spontaneously appear.

Snapping Turtles and Painted Turtles are on the Reptile and Amphibian sign. They are common native species. It is possible that they are in the lake but one wonders where the sites for them to lay eggs would be.
