Das Figurenensemble schuf der Magdeburger Steinmetz und Steinbildhauer Wolfgang Roßdeutscher (*1945) kurz nach der Wende ursprünglich für den Stadtteil Olvenstedt. 2008 stellte man das Marmor-Paar südlich der Johanniskirche auf einer Grünfläche auf. Der Standort gegenüber der ältesten Pfarrkirche Magdeburgs ist gut gewählt, da der helle Stein des Kunstwerkes mit dem alten Gemäuer der jetzt als Veranstaltungshalle genutzten Johanniskirche hervorragend korrespondiert.

The ensemble of figures was created by the Magdeburg stonemason and stone sculptor Wolfgang Roßdeutscher (*1945) shortly after the fall of communism, originally for the Olvenstedt district. In 2008 the marble pair was placed on a green area south of the Johanniskirche. The location opposite Magdeburg's oldest parish church is well chosen, as the light stone of the work of art corresponds excellently with the old walls of the Johanniskirche, now used as an event hall.
