[EN] "Châtelaillon-Plage is a commune in south-western France located in the department of Charente-Maritime (Nouvelle-Aquitaine region).

Despite the presence of the seaside toponym in the name of the town, the beach at Châtelaillon-Plage is artificial. It turns out that this beach requires regular silting up, otherwise the force of the sea currents would make it completely disappear.
The town includes in particular a part of the village of Bouchôleurs, for mussel farming and oyster farming, shared with the town of Yves. This village was particularly affected by the Xynthia storm of February 28, 2010. The French government has identified areas "dangerous to human life" in which all housing should be destroyed. Challenging this position, some residents have formed a safeguard association for the village of Bouchôleurs. "
